Insert All Blocks
(included in the
Blocks Collection Tools)
About
This tool inserts all block definitions and their names from the active drawing in the active space.
All blocks are inserted in one column. Their names are inserted as text entities in another column beside the blocks, in line with the blocks.
The dynamic block variants are inserted in rows.
This AutoCAD utility helps you keep track of your block libraries and gives a clear view of all dynamic variants by listing all the available blocks in the file. This allows you to easily manage them.
Another purpose is to quickly understand and verify the contents of drawings from third parties.
Features and Usage
-The insertion point of the first block is at coordinates X = 0, Y = 0, Z = 0. Blocks are inserted along Y axes, one under another, while the dynamic block variants (when they exist) are inserted along X axes.
-Insert Block’s Names; if this option is selected the blocks’ names are inserted as text on the right side of each block at the distance specified in the Offset between blocks and blocks' names field.
-Skip anonymous blocks (asterisk (*) named blocks). Most of the time you can skip anonymous blocks, although, at times, you may need to very the exact content of your drawing in which case unselect this option.
-Offset between blocks; enter the offset between blocks. The value should be in the same range as the blocks' sizes.
-Offset between blocks and blocks' names; enter the offset between blocks and blocks' names. The value should be in the same range as the blocks' sizes. A positive value will cause the text for the names to be placed on the right side of the blocks.
-Show all dynamic blocks' states; by unselecting this option the dynamic blocks will be inserted only in their default state.
-Insert dynamic blocks' states names (values); optionally, you can have the dynamic blocks' states names (property values) inserted as text on the lower side of the blocks
-Offset between dynamic blocks' states; the value should be in the same range as the blocks' sizes.
-Progress; in this area you can see the total total blocks inserted, the xRefs skipped, blocks in xRefs skipped and anonymous blocks skipped. You can also see the progress in the status bar.
Please note that some of the properties (Ex. Lookup) may have no value, in which case there will be no dynamic block state (block variant) inserted. In case of large blocks, the insertion of each dynamic block state can take quite a long time.
-The application detects empty block definitions, in which case you will get the option to delete them.
Also, if the application encounters a block definition with no name you will be prompted to name it. Blocks with no name are illegal entities in AutoCAD.
