Batch Replace Text (included in the Text Collection Tools)

About

You can use this application to quickly search and replace text in multiple DWG files, in a batch process.
It searches all files in the specified folder and subfolders. It works on Text and Mtext located in Model Space or Paper Space, including text inside blocks, attributes and constant attributes.
The DWG files must be closed.

Usage

- Click on Change folder button to select the folder where your DWG files are. By default DWG files location window shows the folder location of the currently opened drawing.
- Uncheck Include subfolders if you wish to process only the selected folder.
- Check Match case if your text search should be case sensitive.
- Uncheck Model Space or Paper Space according to your needs.
- Uncheck Text, Mtext and Attributes inside Blocks according to your needs.

There are two search modes:
Search for up to 4 text items at a time and Search using text from Excel file
- To use the first mode, enter 1 to 4 text items to search for in the Find what fields and the replacement text items in the Replace with fields. If you don't enter any text in Replace with fields, the found text will be removed.

-If you have more then 4 items to search, switch to the second mode by clicking on Search using text from Excel file button.
In this mode you need to use an Excel file with find and replace values on 2 different columns. In the Excel file you can enter as many find and replace pairs as you need.
Click on Select File button to select the Excel file to read data from (the file has to be opened). Then enter the Sheet Number (Ex:1, if your data is in the first sheet), Find what Column (Ex: A, if the look up data is in column A) and the Replace with Column letter (Ex: B).
- Click Replace button to start the batch process. The progress frame will display the number of DWG found files, the total number of matched text items and the total process time.

Attention! The modifications to the files cannot be undone.

Attention!

-Batch Replace Text automatically converts 2004 format drawings to 2007 format.
-We recommend backing up drawings before using this tool as a protection from erroneous usage.
